Responsibilities

  • Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in immutable, distributed systems, data streaming and backend Scala based systems using functional programming to create solutions that help meet regulatory needs for the company.
  • Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community and from time to time, be asked to code or evaluate code.
  • Collaborate with digital product managers, and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences to help millions of Americans achieve financial empowerment.
  • Work with a cloud native stack, build on AWS, use technologies like Kubernetes and Serverless.

Required Skills

  • Spark Developer certification from any of (Databricks, MAPR, Cloudera or Hortonworks) is added advantage.
  • Spark knowledge (nice to have).
  • Good knowledge of AWS Services like SQS, Lambda is required.
  • Functional Skills : Functional programming using Scala.
  • Strong database and data analysis skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and synthesizing skills (know how to figure things out).

Required Experience

  • Have experience interacting with business stakeholders and customers directly to get direction and confirm we’re building useful software.
  • Hands on Experience as a software engineer in a globally distributed team working with Scala and Java programming language.
  • Experience with Unix command line tools.
  • Experience with big-data technologies Spark/Databricks and Hadoop/ADLS is a must.
  • Java / JavaScript & Node.js exp is a plus.
  • Experience in any one of the cloud platform Azure (Preferred), AWS or Google
    Server less technologies experience is required.
  • Experience building data lakes and data pipelines in cloud using Azure and Databricks or similar tools.
  • Experience with Scaled Agile Framework is a plus.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a closely related field.
