SAP Functional Architect

Required Skills & Experience:

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in SAP functional domains, with at least 5 years in a solution architect or lead functional designer role.
• Solid exposure to SAP Funds Management (FM) and Public Sector Management processes.
• Deep understanding of end-to-end SAP business processes including Finance, Procurement, Grant Management, and Integration touchpoints.
• Strong experience in handling complex system landscapes with multiple integrations and projects running in parallel.
• Knowledge of SAP roadmap, release management, and upgrade impacts.
• Ability to engage with senior business stakeholders and translate business requirements into scalable SAP solutions.
• Experience working in multi-vendor and cross-cultural environments.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience with NGOs, international organizations, or public sector clients is an advantage.
• SAP Certification in Financials, Funds Management, or Public Sector Management.
• Exposure to SAP S/4HANA environments.

While deep SAP Funds Management expertise is highly valued, we are open to strong SAP Functional Architects with good working knowledge of Funds Management willing to build deeper expertise in this area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end solution design for SAP functional areas, considering the broader enterprise architecture and business roadmaps.
• Evaluate and manage dependencies across upstream/downstream systems, parallel projects, SAP upgrade paths, and third-party technologies.
• Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to define solution options, impacts, and dependencies.
• Provide expert-level guidance during requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, and cutover planning.
• Ensure solution consistency across SAP modules and other technology platforms, mitigating risks early.
• Monitor and proactively address changes coming from SAP (new releases, patches) that may impact Gavi’s environment.
• Participate in architecture governance forums and change control boards.
