The SAP FICO Consultant is responsible for managing the SAP financial accounting (FI) and controlling (CO) modules. This role involves working with cross-functional teams to implement, configure, and maintain SAP FICO solutions, ensuring they meet business requirements for financial management, reporting, and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- SAP FICO Module Implementation:
- Gather business requirements and translate them into SAP configurations for the FI and CO modules.
- Perform system configurations, including the setup of company codes, chart of accounts, and other essential financial structures in SAP.
- Conduct system tests and troubleshoot issues during the implementation process.
- End-User Training & Support:
- Provide training and support to end-users on the SAP FICO system.
- Act as a subject matter expert to assist users with system issues, and provide guidance on using SAP FICO features effectively.
- Process Optimization:
- Analyze business processes and propose solutions to enhance efficiency through SAP FICO.
- Assist in automating financial processes and reporting, and ensuring alignment with business goals.
- System Integration and Data Migration:
- Ensure seamless integration of SAP FICO with other SAP modules (like SAP MM, SD) and third-party applications.
- Oversee the data migration process from legacy systems to SAP, ensuring data integrity and correctness.
- Financial Reporting:
- Configure SAP to generate financial statements, balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
- Monitor and troubleshoot reporting issues, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Post-Implementation Support & Maintenance:
- Provide ongoing support after implementation to resolve any issues related to SAP FICO.
- Perform system updates and enhancements to keep the SAP FICO system aligned with evolving business needs.
- Documentation:
- Maintain thorough documentation of configuration settings, processes, and customizations.
- Create user manuals, training materials, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, or a related field.
- SAP FICO Certification is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial management.
- Experience with SAP FI and CO module configurations.
- Good understanding of integration points with other SAP modules (e.g., MM, SD, HR).
- Experience with data migration and system integration.
- Ability to translate business requirements into SAP configurations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for working with cross-functional teams.
Desired Experience:
- 2+ years of experience working with SAP FICO in an implementation or support role.
- Experience with end-to-end project lifecycle for SAP implementations.
Knowledge of international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP
