Rust Developer

We’re urgently seeking a Senior Fullstack Developer with strong expertise in Rust, AWS Lambda, and Shopify to support a mission-critical middleware system for an enterprise eCommerce client. This is a short-term contract with the potential to evolve into a longer-term engagement, depending on performance and fit.

Project Context:

• The client manages end-to-end Shopify Plus implementations for enterprise customers.
• The current middleware—connecting Shopify to various enterprise systems—has recently been rewritten in Rust, replacing legacy Node.js components.
• The system is hosted entirely on AWS, leveraging Lambda, EventBridge, and DynamoDB.
• The middleware handles complex data flows including product information (PIM), inventory updates, and order processing.
• A new Shopify theme is being deployed next week, and the current middleware developer is rolling off—creating an urgent need for coverage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and extend the existing Rust-based middleware.
• Debug and troubleshoot AWS Lambda functions and serverless workflows.
• Ensure smooth data flow between Shopify and external systems (e.g., Google Merchant Center).
• Collaborate with client teams and partner agencies to support eCommerce operations.
• Participate in occasional late-night deployments (potentially).
• Access systems via Okta and Google Cloud
