Automation System Debug – Hardware, Electrical, PLC, Robot, Vision
Assist maintenance team to identify root cause of reoccurring issues
Upgrade to systems to enable processing of new part models, data tracking, performance improvements, machine uptime etc
Update and add PLC code (Siemens) to support new models and price changes
Update machine vision programs (Cognex) to support new models and process changes
Update and create new robot programs (Mitsubishi) as needed to support new models and process changes
Develop a project plan to work diligently toward finding the best solution for complex recycling challenges
Design and build prototype to explore feasibility of proposed solutions and inform the design of scalable systems
Recommend best path forward to move from lab-scale prototype to scalable and deployable access
Planned downtime is not to exceed 5% per shift
Must be a self starter and independent worker with innovation
Able to handle ambiguity and make decisions with certain or limited data
Knowledge of MS Excel and Excel VBA along with familiarity with atleast one programing language (Python, Java, C++, Swift or similar)
Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships in a worldwide environment with the ability to distill complex ideas into concise business focused messages
Ability to present findings by confidence, backed up with data, research and prototyping skills
Insatiable curiosity with a proven ability to propose creative solutions to problems
Knowledge of optics principles & Machine vision as they related to CCD cameras, 2D and 1D lasers, and their use for positioning and identification
Working knowledge of robotics (6-axis and/ or Scara) pneumatics, servo motors, motion controllers, PLC and PC based control systems
Basic experience with CAD, Design of experimental fundamentals and basic understanding of robotics and automation
Familiarity with process design for Manufacturing and Mechanical Drawings
Experience designing, building & troubleshooting functional prototypes of mechatronic systems incorporating compute, sensing and actuation
