The Quality Assurance Specialist Sr performs Quality Assurance (QA) reviews for the BSA Compliance functions and/or related processes, by providing formalized assessments and reporting of findings to the Department Management and communicates subsequent work item repairs to applicable Compliance team members. The QA Specialist Sr will be responsible for performing QA on the complex workstreams (FIU Investigations and High Risk Reviews). Additionally, QA Specialist Sr will assist in providing guidance and training to the Quality Control (QC) teams within AML/BSA and OFAC. Job Duties and Responsibilities Performs QA reviews of various AML functions, including but not limited to, AML Alerts, CTRs, Sanctions/Screening, FIU Investigations and/or Customer Risk reviews, to determine if the review and research were conducted in accordance with quality standards and timeframes set for within established procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements. Perform QA reviews on a targeted basis across various business-as-usual processes and special projects, working closely with Bank personnel. Provides recommendations and corrective actions in response to findings observed during the QA process. Reports findings and observations to Management based on QA standards and processes established by the Department and other Internal Audit program reviews/assessments. Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion. Works closely with the Quality Assurance Manager to develop and recommend methods to enhance quality for AML/BSA compliance teams. Documents reviews performed for tracking and training purposes. Provides feedback to management and team members on review results ensuring quality and efficiency of production. Assists with departmental metrics for QA/QC tracking and reporting. Provides feedback, as needed, to both Management and the offshore QC Analyst(s) on the results of the QA reviews to ensure team members follow policies and procedures, while ensuring quality and efficiency of production. Assists with compiling training material for weekly/monthly QC/QA calibration training sessions based on QA errors identified through QA testing, to ensure increase in QC team's quality performance. Works closely with the QA Manager to develop and recommend methods to enhance quality and efficiency of QA reviews. Provides training, coaching, and mentoring to QA specialists based on case reviews results. Assists with maintaining/auditing any QA logs, as defined by Management, to monitor the production of workflow metrics and ensure QA cases are completed within the specified time as defined within policy and procedures. Responsible for assisting with any assigned special projects which may include, but are not limited to, assisting with monthly reporting, audit/exam requests and/or first line of defense testing. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion. Performs other related duties as required.
