On a day-to-day basis, the ideal candidate will be:
• Comfortable working in an agile process (scrum)
• Directly responsible for interfacing with product owners and software engineers to elaborate new (and updated) features to ensure features are testable
• Directly responsible for performing functional testing of new features
• Directly responsible for automating functional tests
• Directly responsible for performing regression tests
• Comfortable and effective partnering with frontend team members to ensure new designs lend to testing automation
• Comfortable and effective partnering with release management teams to prepare release documentation
• Comfortable and effective partnering with backend team members to ensure APIs and database designs lend to testing automation
• Ensure the continued 24x7x365 operations of our portal
Strategically, the ideal candidate will be:
• Responsible for ensuring the overall quality of applications placed onto the portal
• Creating a high degree of automation to allow the team to perform small, frequent releases
• Partnering with business and technical product owners to propose the best path forward to test and automate testing of new features and capabilities
Skills required:
• Solid understanding of Agile practices. Our company operates scrum teams. Selected candidate should be comfortable working with standard scrum ceremonies (planning, review, retrospectives, demo, etc.).
• Solid understand of web application architectures. Strong understanding of REST, web development, and testing.
• Ownership and accountability for all aspects of application testing.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including but not limited to: problem solving, decision making, influencing, change management, negotiation, written and oral communications, ability to work effectively with diverse, distributed groups
• Collaborate effectively with other teams within a corporate ecosystem to successfully integrate new features
• Java-Selenium, Github or similar, Web Testing, Quality Assurance / Quality Engineering, Regression Testing, Functional Testing, Postman, Test Automation, BDD, Cucumber, Saucelabs, and a test case management system like TestRail or Zephyr.
Skills desired:
• Healthcare domain experience
• Ability to provide and receive thoughtful feedback to/from all stakeholders to ensure the team continues to grow
• Ability to be successful in a dynamic work environment
• Ability to learn new tools and technologies when appropriate, make independent decisions, etc.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers
• Cloud computing. Our company operates a hybrid IT infrastructure. We run applications in the cloud in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and on-premise in OpenShift.
