Job Description: Strategic QA Lead

Role Overview:
The Strategic QA Lead is responsible for overseeing the quality assurance process, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions. This role involves leading a team of QA/Testers to create and execute effective testing strategies, manage the defect lifecycle, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless product delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of quality assurance processes, excellent leadership skills, and a proactive approach to improving testing methodologies and tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA/Testers to ensure quality deliverables.
- Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies and plans aligned with project goals.
- Define quality standards and ensure adherence throughout the testing lifecycle.
- Act as a liaison between QA, Development Leads, Product Owners, and other delivery teams to drive defect remediation and resolution.
- Analyze business and functional requirements to design detailed Test Cases, Test Scenarios, and Test Scripts.
- Create and execute test plans, ensuring coverage of functional, regression, and performance testing.
- Ensure all testing activities are aligned with project timelines and deliverables.
- Manage the defect lifecycle, including defect identification, logging, prioritization, tracking, and resolution.
- Collaborate with Development teams to identify root causes and implement fixes.
- Provide clear and concise defect reports to stakeholders, ensuring transparency in defect status.
- Continuously evaluate and enhance QA processes, tools, and methodologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Research and recommend new tools, technologies, and best practices to optimize the testing process.
- Conduct regular reviews of test metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
- Prepare and maintain QA documentation, including Test Cases, Test Scenarios, and defect logs.
- Provide regular reports on testing progress, coverage, and defect status to stakeholders.
- Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible for future reference.
Required Skills and Experience:
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in designing and executing Test Cases and Test Scenarios.
- Strong understanding of defect lifecycle management and defect-tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla).
- Hands-on experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, TestNG, Postman).
- Familiarity with software development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor QA teams.
- Excellent coordination and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in managing QA for complex, large-scale projects.
- Knowledge of cloud-based testing environments and platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
