Python/AWS Developer

Job Description: 
Role and responsibilities 
·        Development of data catalogs, data access and provisioning, data transfers (internal and external), metadata management and data findability solutions
·        Provide technical expertise for managing large volume of data from multiple sources
·        Contribute to the development of policies, procedures and best practice methodologies
·        Ensure that external and internal regulations and policies governing data management and data       systems are met 
·        Assist in the development of methodologies to conduct data tracking and quality assurance
·        Assist in establishing data standards 
Experience 
·        BS/MS in STEM (Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Engineering)
·        3+ years of relevant industry experience managing data
·        Experience/expertise in the acquisition and management of data from multiple sources 
·        Experience/expertise in management and programming of an electronic data capture systems
Requirements:
·        Experience with different databases, RDBMS and NoSQL
·        Proficient with programming in Python/Java
·        Experience in Linux/Unix scripting
·        Experience with automating scripts and working in the terminal
·        Experience with AWS Cloud technologies like lambda, S3, SQS, elastic search, IAM etc
·        Knowledge of AWS infrastructure technologies like EC2, RDS etc
·        Understanding of data modeling and building ETL pipelines
·        Knowledge of data management fundamentals and data storage principles
·        Knowledge of iRods or data cataloging system.
·        Ability and willingness to learn new things (languages, tools, frameworks) quickly
·        Ability to multitask, work independently with minimal supervision and proceed without a great deal of direction
·        Demonstrated strong teamwork and organizational skills, and outstanding interpersonal skills
·        Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
·        Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts and influence decisions across to multiple levels of audience, both technical and executive
