Description

Primary duties include:

            

  • Working with the Project team to perform design review and conformity to requirements.
    • The project manager works with the various stakeholders of the project (Subject matter experts, Vendor associates, functional users, etc.) to make sure that the proposed software design by the vendor are conforming to the requirements set forth the Client and Project Steering Committee.
       
  • Reviewing the deliverables submitted by the external vendor and approving them based on client's guidelines.
    • As per the contractual requirements, the external vendor for the project submits deliverables like UAT completion Document, Requirement Conformity certificate, etc. to the client team, which the Project Manager helps review and approve or reject them based on the guidelines provided by Maryland Department of Labor.
       
  • Performing technical verification of proposed design and approving or suggesting changes to the vendor.
    • Before the software code is written, the Vendor submits the proposed design as use cases and related documentation. The Project Manager is responsible to review such documents from a technical standpoint and suggest changes if necessary.

       
  • Working closely with Project members to create and maintain the Project Plan and to track the schedule.
    • It is the responsibility of the project Manager to track the various tasks of the project through the project plan and maintain it by tracking the progress of those tasks by closely working with the various stakeholders of the project.

       
  • Coordinating Interface related testing with external agencies like SSA, IRS, DHR, etc.
    • Maryland Department of Labor exchanges various types of data with Federal, State and Private entities. This data sharing is done via Application interfaces. The Project Manager coordinates between Maryland Department of Labor and Federal, State and Private entities such as SSA, IRS, DHR, etc. to test these interfaces.
       
  • Working with internal security to respond to audit questions.
    • Maryland Department of Labor is subjected to various audit (internal quality audit, Federal audits like SSA SEQ, Regulatory audits, etc.) and the Project Manager coordinate with the Internal security and members of the team to provide necessary artifacts for the audit.
       
  • Participating in business process design review with the business users and external vendor.
    • As part of Modernizing the software, there are instances where the Business process is optimized to suite the software tool. The Project Manager participates and helps the business users and external vendor to come up with a updated business process design.
       
  • Triaging Production support issues.
    • BEACON project went live on September 20, 2020 and since then there are regular operational (production) issues that occur in the software. Some of those issues need further triaging with the vendor and business users and the Project Manager is responsible for coordinating for and triaging such production support issues.
       
  • Performing production support related tasks for BEACON project
    • BEACON project went live on September 20, 2020 and since then there are regular operational (production) issues that occur in the software. Some of these issues require review and correction in data, while some require adding or removing user privileges. All of such production support related tasks are performed by the Project Manager and other team members.
