Project Manager

Must Have Skills (Most Important):

• Program management experience (Agile and/or Waterfall) with success leading large complex initiatives.
• Bachelors degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Drive and Report to Senior Executives on program progression aspects including timelines, financials, risks, and outcomes
• Create/frame program outcome messaging including status reports, decks, sprint plans, and more
• Partner with internal (hiring) Cloud organization and IT Portfolios for cross-functional stakeholder management, ensure delivery of committed outcomes, develop/manage/maintain detailed migration plans at detailed workstream levels
• Demonstrated experience in end-to-end management of various migrations of IT systems from/to data centers, Cloud Service Providers (CSPs)
• Extensive hands-on experience across various IaaS/PaaS services across Cloud providers including Azure and/or AWS as well as data center provisioning/deployment models
• Five or more years of relevant work experience.
• Demonstrated strong analytical skills with the ability to gather and organize data and develop recommendations.
• Experience with project management and collaboration tools including G Suite, Confluence, Jira, and SmartSheets.

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Project Management, Information Systems, or related fields of study.
• Three or more years performing Program and Project Management involving initiatives with significant cross-functional dependencies.
• Experience in managing internal teams, partners, and vendors in delivering product development initiatives on time and on budget.
• Interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and working effectively with Managers and above.
• Strong Program management experience (using Agile Methodologies) with a proven track record of results by leading large complex initiatives.
• Demonstration of strong technical skills.
• Experience and interest in current and future technologies.
• Ability to own issues/risk decisions and manage on an ongoing basis.
• Ability to identify opportunities to streamline processes and create efficiencies.
• Proven ability to package and sell ideas to all levels of management and across organizations.

JOB DUTIES:

• The Cloud Engineering and Governance organization is searching for a motivated, positive self-starter Technical Project Management to lead and deliver on projects with high visibility within Verizons Global Technology Organization. You will drive cross-functional initiatives, develop action plans, establish milestones, and provide status updates. The position requires frequent interaction with Sr. Managers and Directors across the organizations. You will have the acumen to handle complex situations and multiple responsibilities.
• Support Cloud managers across various planned migrations closely partnering with Application Teams, Cloud Architects, Platform enablement teams, and other stakeholders
• Create, update, and track various detail migration plans at the application level using SmartSheets and other tracking tools
• Partner with stakeholder organizations to align on delivery dates and project status.
• Manage and mitigate risks to keep projects on track, including estimating time and prioritizing key results.
• Function as an escalation point for project managers in order to own and drive issues to resolution.
• Communicate key successes/wins and other significant project statuses during stand-ups, reviews, and retrospective calls.
• Capture and report key metrics related to projects and present them to senior management.
• Identify any stakeholder opportunities to streamline processes and create efficiencies.
• Support leadership with executive reporting.

Desired Education / Certifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or similar Project Management Certifications
• AWS Certified Solution Architect, DevOps Engineer - Associate / Professional Specialty Certifications
