Description

  • The Principal Engineer position requires 5+ years of related experience and an accredited bachelor’s degree in engineering. Master's degree is a plus. Professional engineering license is a plus. Experience in Utility or Pipeline Industry is required.
  • Principal Engineer will be responsible for leading and managing projects that create and implement new GIS (Geographic information Systems) processes to support Transmission and Large Pipeline business units.
  • This role will involve working closely with various business units, stakeholders, and technical teams to ensure that GIS processes are effectively integrated and optimized for operational excellence.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage Large Pipeline related GIS projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with Transmission and Large Pipeline Operating business units to understand their data requirements and operational needs.
  • Develop and implement new GIS processes to support the integration and management of Transmission and Large Pipeline data.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including IT, engineering, and operations, to ensure seamless incorporation of GIS processes.
  • Create detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders, highlighting any issues or changes in scope.
  • Facilitate training sessions and workshops for end-users to ensure effective utilization of new GIS processes and tools.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in GIS and pipeline operations.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies related to GIS data management and pipeline operations.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree o A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, with a focus on Utility or Pipeline.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Experience working with Transmission and Large Pipeline data and operations is highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
