Job Summary:
The Senior Program Manager is responsible for leading and managing multiple, high-impact programs across various business units. This role requires strategic oversight, meticulous planning, and effective execution to ensure that all program goals are met within scope, time, and budget. The Senior Program Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, operations, and external stakeholders, to drive alignment, mitigate risks, and deliver value to the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Planning and Strategy:Define program objectives, scope, and deliverables in collaboration with senior leadership and stakeholders.
Develop comprehensive program plans, including schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
Align program goals with organizational strategy and ensure that all initiatives contribute to the company's long-term objectives.
- Program Execution and Delivery:Oversee the day-to-day management of programs, ensuring that projects are executed according to plan.
Monitor program progress, track key milestones, and manage any changes to the scope, schedule, or budget.
Lead cross-functional teams in the execution of program tasks, ensuring clear communication, effective collaboration, and timely decision-making.
Implement best practices in project management and ensure adherence to organizational standards and methodologies.
- Stakeholder Management:Act as the primary point of contact for all program-related communications, both internally and externally.
Facilitate regular status updates, meetings, and reports to keep stakeholders informed of program progress, risks, and issues.
Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure that program outcomes align with their needs and requirements.
- Risk Management:Identify, assess, and mitigate program risks and issues proactively.
Develop contingency plans and manage program adjustments as needed to address challenges and obstacles.
Ensure that all program risks are communicated to stakeholders and that appropriate mitigation strategies are in place.
- Team Leadership and Development:Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to project managers and team members involved in the program.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment, encouraging innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Lead the professional development of team members, providing opportunities for learning and growth.
- Budget Management:Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring that all financial targets are met.
Monitor program expenditures and ensure that costs are controlled and aligned with budgetary constraints.
Report on financial performance and provide recommendations for cost optimization.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting:Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure program success.
Conduct regular program reviews and post-implementation assessments to evaluate outcomes and identify areas for improvement.
Prepare and present detailed program reports to senior leadership, highlighting achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.
Qualifications:
- Education:Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
- Experience:8+ years of experience in program management, with a proven track record of leading complex, cross-functional programs.
Experience in managing programs within [specific industry, e.g., technology, healthcare, finance] is preferred.
Extensive experience in stakeholder management, risk management, and budget management.

- Certifications:Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
