Job Summary:
The IT Program Manager will oversee multiple IT projects and initiatives within the Department of Transportation, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and objectives. This role requires a strong leader with extensive project management experience and a proven ability to manage complex programs. The IT Program Manager will coordinate resources, manage stakeholder expectations, and drive the successful delivery of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of IT programs and projects within the Department of Transportation.
Develop and manage program roadmaps, timelines, and budgets to ensure successful completion of all initiatives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT staff, project managers, and external vendors, to ensure program objectives are met.
Monitor and report on program performance, including tracking progress against milestones and deliverables.
Identify and mitigate program risks and issues, implementing appropriate solutions to ensure project success.
Facilitate regular program meetings and provide updates to stakeholders on program status and outcomes.
Ensure compliance with project management best practices and standards, including adherence to the PMP methodology.
Develop and maintain program documentation, including project charters, status reports, and lessons learned.
Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment, promoting effective communication and collaboration among team members.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in IT project and program management, with a strong track record of successful program delivery.
PMP certification is required.
In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and best practices.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficient in project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, JIRA, Trello).
Experience in government or transportation sectors is a plus.
