Key Responsibilities

 

  • Maintain, enhance, and fix defects in legacy PowerBuilder desktop applications
  • Collaborate with staff and business partners to address bugs and perform enhancements (using Jira for tracking)
  • Troubleshoot application issues and work with technical leads and business teams to resolve them
  • Conduct unit, QA, and UAT testing per industry and client standards
  • Manage source code, change management, and release processes
  • Participate in modernization projects and support future migrations to Java
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings, sprint planning, code reviews, and project planning sessions
  • Estimate effort for assigned tasks and communicate status, issues, and blockers
  • Provide knowledge transfer and documentation for state staff
  • Perform other related duties as needed

     

Required Skills

 

  • Strong PowerBuilder application development experience
  • Experience with PL/SQL and Oracle relational databases
  • Proficiency in PFC class libraries
  • Familiarity with client/server technologies (PowerBuilder, VB, Delphi)
  • Experience using Git for source code management
  • Strong SQL skills (CRUD operations, View creation)
  • Ability to work with and update legacy applications
  • Knowledge of JavaScript and modern frameworks (Angular, React, or Vue)
