Key Responsibilities:
Semantic Model Design & Architecture
Architect and manage Power BI data models (datasets) with defined measures, hierarchies, and calculated columns.

Adhere to star schema best practices: fact/dimension tables, role-playing dimensions, surrogate keys, bi-directional filtering.

Align data granularity and relationships for optimized slicing, aggregation, and performance.

Design model storage architecture integrated with Data Warehouse and Data Lake, ensuring scalability.

Leverage Power Query (M language) for transformations, maintaining query folding in DirectQuery mode.

Collaborate with data engineers to optimize upstream pipelines using Dataflows, Fabric, or SQL views.

Maintain strong data lineage, traceability, and reliability across modeling layers.

DAX Development & Optimization
Design complex DAX measures for:

KPIs

Time intelligence (YTD, MTD, YoY)

Variance analysis

Custom filter logic and cross-fact metrics

Optimize DAX for performance, reusability, and readability.

Cloud Integration & Modernization
Integrate AWS data with Microsoft Fabric, including DirectLake model development.

Understand multi-cloud architecture (AWS + Azure), including cross-cloud networking, data egress, and Gateway configurations.

Experience with Business Objects (BO) Universe and migration from BO to Power BI is a plus.

Leadership & Strategy
Lead BI modernization initiatives, including tool transitions and report migration.

Influence enterprise reporting strategies, working across technical and business stakeholders in Agile environments.

Essential Skills:
Expertise in Power BI data modeling and dashboard/report development

Deep knowledge of DAX, Power Query (M), and DirectQuery mode

Proven experience designing semantic models aligned with star schema principles

Hands-on with multi-cloud integrations: AWS, Azure, and Microsoft Fabric

Skilled in SQL, data shaping, and data transformation pipelines

Experience in legacy BI migration (e.g., BO to Power BI)

Strong understanding of data warehousing and data lake architectures

Excellent collaboration and communication skills in Agile settings
