We're standing up a standardized Power BI reporting framework across multiple county service teams, starting with Health & Wellness and Community Corrections departments.
-no one currently in house or FTE's with expertise in data engineering- need someone to set up the framework and have strong experience with SQL development, ETL development (ssis), and data integration experience.
--This includes security design, metadata/semantic data modeling, report conversions (from legacy Crystal, Business Objects, and Excel), and establishing repeatable patterns for broader use.
--We're seeking a senior Power BI resource who brings practical BI experience, is strong in Power BI modeling and dashboarding, and has moderate ETL/SSIS skills.
--This person will help set up the framework and begin executing report conversions with limited oversight
--Experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Cloud and ability to work with over 350 reports (crysal and Excel spreadsheets) and revamped and refined in PowerBI

- Assessment and Analysis:
- Review the Evaluation Research and Reporting (ERR) team’s existing data infrastructure, systems, and workflows.
- Identify redundancies and opportunities for improvement.
- Evaluate compliance with best practices in Power BI design and delivery incorporating relevant data governance standards and regulations.
- Framework Design:
- Design a scalable Power BI framework that addresses security controls, change management and quality control practices.
- Design a standard model to support ERR report and dashboard publishing considering it a pattern for other county service teams.
- Develop data integration strategies and objects to unify disparate and inefficiencies in data sources.
- Establish the technical foundation for the framework, including system configurations and integrations.
- Development:
- Build worker case load reports within new framework
- Refine and re-platform current Crystal and legacy reoccurring (monthly, quarterly) reports to Power BI framework.
- Develop and document best practices, guidelines, and standard operating procedures for long term data management and governance.
- Conduct knowledge transfer or training sessions as needed for ERR and IS personnel to ensure effective adoption.
- Monitoring and Optimization:
- Provide recommendations for continuous improvement and scalability.
- Vendor warrants that all services will be performed with the highest standard of professional service.
