Power BI Developer

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Senior Power BI Developer with 5 to 8 years of experience in Power BI, DAX, and SQL. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Power Query, Power BI dashboards, and data modeling. This role requires a solid understanding of SDLC and agile methodologies and hands-on experience in end-to-end enterprise BI development and deployment. Knowledge of any ETL tool is a plus.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

5 to 8 years of experience in Power BI development.

Expertise in DAX, Power Query, and Power BI dashboards.

Strong understanding of data modeling and data preparation using data flows.

Proven ability to consume data from various sources and design robust BI data models.

Advanced proficiency in writing calculations and expressions.

Proficiency in SQL and stored procedures, including experience working with SQL Server and data lakes.

Familiarity with ETL tools is advantageous.

Good understanding of SDLC and agile methodologies.

Job Responsibilities:

Design and develop BI dashboards and reports by connecting to diverse data sources.

Make appropriate visual choices and effectively utilize data blending features.

Create advanced calculations and expressions to meet business needs.

Analyze and optimize complex SQL stored procedures and user queries to enhance dashboard performance.

Extract, transform, and join data from various sources such as flat files, relational databases, data lakes, and cloud data warehouses.

Schedule data source refreshes and maintain BI reports.

Work with gateways for seamless data connectivity.

Perform data cleansing, profiling, and transformation to ensure data accuracy and quality.

Optimize the performance of reports and dashboards.

Document processes and collaborate with multiple stakeholders to gather requirements and feedback.

Serve as a bridge between business users and the data engineering team, ensuring effective communication and alignment.

Collaborate with business stakeholders, data analysts, and the data engineering team to design and execute data transformation processes.

Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues with strong problem-solving skills.

Additional Information:

Knowledge of ETL tools and experience with cloud data platforms are added advantages.

Strong communication and documentation skills are essential for this role.
