🚨 Now Hiring: Power BI Developer / Architect 🚨
💲 Contract: 10 Months | 💵 Rate: $75/hr (W2 or C2C)
📍 Remote – Must reside in Pennsylvania (PA DL required for submission)
(Onsite expected ~1 day/month, Harrisburg office)
We are working with the Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH) as part of a Data Modernization Initiative to modernize and transform public health reporting and the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) into Microsoft’s Azure Cloud platform (Databricks, Synapse, Delta Lake, serverless technologies).
The Power BI Developer / Architect will design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, data models, and reporting solutions for critical DOH initiatives like PA NEDSS NextGen, COVID-19 Response, Data Modernization Initiative, Reporting Hub, and more.
🔑 Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement Power BI reports, dashboards, and visualizations that meet stakeholder requirements.
Collaborate with DOH teams, analysts, and DBAs to align data strategy with operational/public health reporting needs.
Perform data profiling, cleansing, formatting, classification, and quality analysis.
Translate business requirements into optimized workflows, KPIs, and BI solutions.
Support large data analysis, visualization, and mining using Power BI, SQL Server, and SAS.
Provide technical documentation, presentations, and knowledge transfer sessions.
Ensure compliance with federal & state data governance standards.
📌 Required Skills & Experience:
✔️ 5+ years hands-on Power BI & DAX expertise
✔️ 5+ years SQL Server, T-SQL, complex queries, SSRS
✔️ 5+ years with data mining, reporting methodologies, and BI architecture
✔️ Advanced use of SAS, SQL, and Excel for analytical/statistical reporting
✔️ Strong understanding of data warehousing, facts, dimensions, star schema
✔️ Azure DevOps & Agile/Scrum experience
✔️ Excellent communication/documentation skills to present complex data to varied audiences
✔️ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or similar field, advanced studies preferred)
