PostgreSQL DBA

About the job
· 5 + years of experience in PostgreSQL.

· Hands-on experience in configuring and supporting replication using different replication tools.

· Background in building large database infrastructure supporting a high volume of transactions in a mission-critical environment.

· Hands-on experience backup, restore and PITR.

· Good experience on PostgreSQL architectures (Memory components, Different processes, And basic understanding of the working of PostgreSQL).

· Working experience on PostgreSQL Installation.

· Working Experience on Switchover/failover task depends on the scenarios.

· Scheduled maintenance activities to vacuum, analyze for improving of query response time.

· Deploying and managing PostgreSQL on AWS Cloud infrastructure including both EC2 and RDS instances.

· Maintaining different clients on AWS and monitoring them using Cloud Watch.

· Working experience on upgrades (Minor and major versions).

· Troubleshooting Day-to-day operations and issues like ( CPU and Load average, locking blocking, long-running sql, and Disk-space issues ).

· Proficient with SQL, Shell or Python languages.

· Working experience in any other DBA skills like MYSQL/Single store will be plus.
