About the Role:
We are seeking a talented and experienced PostGIS Developer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for working with geospatial data, managing spatial databases, and optimizing PostgreSQL database performance. You will have the opportunity to work on various geospatial technologies and contribute to data migration, ETL processes, and handling large spatial datasets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage spatial databases using PostgreSQL and PostGIS.
  • Work with geospatial data formats such as Shapefiles, GeoJSON, KML, and WKT.
  • Handle data migration, ETL processes, and large spatial datasets.
  • Design and optimize database schemas and queries for spatial data.
  • Collaborate with GIS teams to integrate geospatial data with various GIS software tools such as QGIS, ArcGIS, and open-source GIS tools.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database performance and data issues.
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across systems and platforms (on-premise and cloud).
  • Provide technical support and expertise for geospatial database management and administration.

Required Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in PostGIS for geospatial data processing.
  • Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL database management, administration, and optimization.
  • Experience with PL/SQL and SQL queries.
  • In-depth understanding of geospatial concepts, coordinate systems, and spatial indexing.
  • Experience with database migration and ETL processes.
  • Familiarity with both on-premise and cloud-based database environments.

Desired Competencies:

  • Hands-on experience with geospatial data formats (Shapefiles, GeoJSON, KML, WKT).
  • Familiarity with GIS software such as QGIS, ArcGIS, or open-source GIS tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with internal and external teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Desired Experience Range:
3 to 8 years of experience in geospatial data management and database administration, with a strong focus on PostgreSQL and PostGIS.
