Responsible for the maintenance and implementation of database changes for our environments. Applicant will report to the Senior DBA group for guidance and direction. You will be involved in aspects of the software development cycle which will enhance Broadridge’s Suite of wealth solutions and our clients’ experience.
Responsibilities:
Support and maintain Oracle 12 / 19c databases supporting Broadridge’s R•SUITE applications
Provide opinion and implementation of all Oracle patching and Oracle infrastructure maintenance/security
Provide insight on infrastructure running Oracle, and Oracle itself based on metrics, performance monitoring
Collect and analyze database performance reports (such as AWR, Statspack, Tkprof, DBMS_XPLAN) and provide interpretation and suggestion to improve the performance
Provide support for database and schema changes requested by internal stakeholders
Review, build and deploy database upgrade scripts include DDLs, DMLs, functions, procedures, PL/SQL programs, data changes and schema changes include tables, columns, indexes, types, sequence, views etc.
Review infrastructure monitoring to maintain health and uptime for all Oracle servers.
Create databases from exports, RMAN or OS backups, etc.
Create backups (exports or datafiles), both adhoc and scheduled
Monitor the performance of both the database instances and processes / reports
Manage the use of disk space on the database servers
Compare and validate database structure / schemas
Document and maintain the scripts and programs that control the DB build process
Assemble the build package containing all of the DDL needed for the DB build
Test the build package to ensure error free execution and / or problem resolution
Apply upgrades to all relevant databases Review build scripts collectively for continuity & consistency
Willing to work extensive "out of hours" periods when necessary
Solid understanding of Oracle SQ: and PL/SQL development
Fluent in the production of AWR, AWRSQL and ASH reports, analyzing their contents and formulating recommendations based on the analysis
Fluent in the use of Oracle client tools such as SQL*Developer, TOAD, etc. particularly using session browser to monitor running SQL
Practical "hands on" experience with Oracle 12/19c and RMAN backup/recovery
Understanding of RAC and Data Guard would be preferred
