We are seeking an experienced Storage and Database Architect who will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of both relational and non-relational database systems. The ideal candidate possesses strong expertise in Oracle RAC, Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC), Cassandra, and has extensive hands-on experience with cloud-based database solutions including managed databases, database-as-a-service (DBaaS), and cloud-native databases. This role is also responsible for designing, integrating, and governing scalable, high-performance data infrastructure that supports business-critical applications across hybrid environments.
Responsibilities:
• Design high-performance, resilient data storage and database architectures for on-prem, hybrid, and cloud environments.
• Architect and design end-to-end solutions integrating storage platforms with relational and non-relational databases.
• Partner with engineering, DevOps, and business teams to assess requirements and translate them into robust, scalable technical solutions.
• Lead the evaluation and selection of storage technologies (SAN, NAS, object, cloud-based) aligned with data platform needs.
• Provide governance and technical leadership in data availability, integrity, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders on best practices in data management, storage optimization, and compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
• Develop and maintain architectural standards, reference models, and solution blueprints.
• Contribute to capacity planning, performance tuning, and cost optimization across storage and database platforms.
• Design cloud-compatible database architectures using Oracle RAC, Oracle ExaCC, Oracle GoldenGate, Cassandra, Amazon RDS, Azure Database, Google Cloud SQL, and other cloud-native database solutions.
• Provide expertise in migrating, managing, and maintaining database solutions across cloud platforms such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Evaluate, recommend, and integrate new database technologies and strategies, including serverless databases, managed database services, and data warehousing solutions.
• Ensure compliance with industry best practices related to data security, availability, performance, and disaster recovery across cloud and hybrid environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, analyze data needs, and provide strategic database solutions.
• Evaluate and recommend the right backend storage technology and architecture to meet the IO needs of database and applications.
• Mentor database administrators and developers to adopt best practices in database design, backup and recovery solutions, cloud integration, and management.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in database architecture and administration.
• Strong experience with Oracle RAC, Oracle ExaCC, Oracle GoldenGate and Apache Cassandra.
• Proven expertise in designing and deploying relational and non-relational database solutions, including NoSQL databases.
• Solid experience working with cloud infrastructure, specifically with managed database services such as OCI Autonomous Database, AWS Aurora, Azure Cosmos DB, and GCP Bigtable.
• Excellent knowledge of database performance tuning, high availability (HA), and disaster recovery strategies in cloud environments.
• Exposure to secret management tools such as Hashicorp and Oracle KeyVault.
• Strong expertise in the area of SQL and NoSQL databases observability in cloud and hybrid environments.
• Strong understanding of compliance standards such as CIS both for OS and databases.
• Proven experience with enterprise storage systems (e.g., NetApp, Dell EMC, Pure Storage) and database technologies (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their storage/database offerings (e.g., S3, RDS, Azure SQL).
• Experience designing solutions with high availability, replication, and disaster recovery in mind.
• Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and leadership skills.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with technical and business stakeholders
