Job Title: Oracle Linux Database Administrator
Location: 4879 State St, Bettendorf, IA 52722 (Hybrid)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Primary Responsibilities

  • Document and support the Oracle databases (11g, 19c) located at the Davenport Works location through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.
  • Document and support the Linux OS (OL5, RH8, RH9) to include support of RPM packages supporting ssh, sftp, email, RPC and alerting functionality.
  • Document and support the PHP scripts and Pro C applications for data processing between the Oracle databases and other systems. 
  • Document and support security solutions with SSL certificates and password hashing. 
  • Expertise in data analysis and interpretation to develop process mapping, modeling, and documentation.
  • Configure and maintain database processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
  • Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
  • Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
  • Implement and maintain robust backup & DR practices.
  • Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.
  • Support Client Compliance activities by performing annual system testing for adherence to IT System and Audit requirements, assists audit teams and internal audit teams as required, and performs Disaster Recovery testing as required.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10 years' minimum experience in a similar role. 

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Experience with backups, restores and recovery models.
  • Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR).
  • Experience working with Windows servers, including Active Directory.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to organize and plan work independently.
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams.

  • Knowledge of security methodologies, policies, standards, and best practices, including firewall rules, Active Directory, and low-level security.
  • Knowledge of API or rest services integrations.
