Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Oracle / ArcGIS Administrator to support and maintain the eSRI and Schneider-based GIS environments and databases. The successful candidate will be responsible for performance monitoring, optimization, and maintaining sync jobs and reporting failures to the Application PoCs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and maintain GIS-related Linux/Windows server requests built to client standards.
  • Monitor and optimize performance of all ArcGIS / ArcFM environments.
  • Maintain sync jobs and report failures to the Application PoCs.
  • Support build deployments and maintain configuration stores.
  • Provide ongoing database maintenance, including optimizing databases for specific applications.
  • Update database software as required.
  • Perform SDE compress and rebuild index.
  • Maintain growth, scalability, tasks, and schedules.
  • Manage data synchronization and replication.
  • Maintain current editing workflows and version architecture.
  • Maintain client enterprise geospatial data models for Gas and Electric (versioned and non-versioned datasets).
  • Maintain the Esri ArcGIS Enterprise (10.6.1) and manage planned migrations.

Required Skills:

  • Experience managing Geographic Information Systems (ArcGIS, MapInfo, Oracle Spatial), SAP, Oracle Applications, Oracle Fusion Middleware, MySQL, DB2, and SQL Server.
  • Proficiency in the installation, configuration, upgrade, and management of GIS (ESRI’s ArcSDE, ArcFM, ArcIMS applications) on Windows and Unix servers.
  • Experience creating and managing ArcGIS user accounts, instances, services, and permissions.
  • Designed and managed SDE-Oracle database storage according to vendors’ recommended best practices.
  • Experience in scripting and scheduling shell scripts and batch scripts for monitoring SDE on SQL Server and Oracle databases.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Transparent Application Failover (TAF) with failover and load balancing capabilities for SDE-Database.
  • Ability to perform SDE multi-user editing database, perform database compress, and re-orgs after editing.
  • Experience with the installation and update of FlexLM single-user and multi-user license files.
  • Ability to create spatial indexes, parallel spatial indexes, and partitioned spatial indexes.
  • Proficiency in database security management, session management, and setting up database system, session, and statement auditing strategies.

Must-Have Skills:

  • 3+ years of experience creating stored procedures in SQL.
  • Advanced SQL development in Oracle SQL Developer.
  • Expertise in backend database management and optimal Oracle database design.
  • Senior-level experience in database administration.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with ArcGIS and ArcGIS Server, Portal.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Utilities.
