Description

  • The RedHat OpenShift Platform Administrator would need to have at least 6-8 years of experience. In this role, you will primarily focus on administering and supporting the OpenShift Container Platform ecosystem for the organization in both AWS public cloud and on premise. This includes managing container tenant provisioning, isolation, and capacity.
  • Strong experience with Operating Systems: RHEL6/7, Redhat Atomic Linux [Bonus: CoreOS]
  • 2+ years of experience with OpenShift Production support with experience in kubernetes persistent volume management and kubernetes volume manages such as Portworx, Trident, Gluster, Rook, etc
  • Experience with Docker [Bonus: CRI-O]
  • Experience with installing, upgrading and maintaining OpenShift in a multimode cluster environment
  • Experience with automation and monitoring using Ansible, Ansible Tower and yaml
  • Experience with git and jira
  • Experience with shell scripting [Bonus: Python]
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipeline and DevOps processes
  • Excellent technical analysis and problem solving skills

  • You will work directly with infrastructure as code-based automation to manage the capacity of the overall platform and deliver new capacity and capabilities as necessary. Having a strong background in Linux administration, virtualization, networking, and security will be required in successfully fulfilling this role; and in providing first class level 3 support.
  • Additionally, understanding application development lifecycles as well practical experience in working with continuous integration and continuous deployment tools as part of the container lifecycle will be useful.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to and supports the corporate Enterprise Container Strategy by Identifying ideas to improve system performance and impact availability.
  • Manage the container platform ecosystem (installation, upgrade, patching, monitoring)
  • Assist in change management of container platform for new versions of OpenShift, Hotfixes, SysAdmin tasks, etc.
  • Cluster capacity management and provisioning through automation of underlying hosts
  • Provides L3 engineering support
  • Works with experienced team members to conduct root cause analysis of issues, review new and existing code and/or perform unit testing.
  • Authors/edits system documentation/playbook(s)
  • Partners with experienced team members to develop accurate work estimates on work packages.
  • May serve as a mentor on procedural matters to less experienced internal and third-party team members.
  • May assist experienced team members with the delegation of work packages.

 
Experience (Mandatory):

  • Expertise with the RedHat OpenShift Container Platform.
  • Expertise with Kubernetes.
  • Expertise in RedHat Linux administration.
  • Expertise working with Docker or similar container technologies.
  • Experience with AWS cloud PAAS/IAAS technologies.
  • Experience working with infrastructure as code technologies such as Terraform
  • Experience in Infrastructure provisioning, monitoring and Ops
