Network System Engineer

As a Network System Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Providing design, implementation, administration and sustaining solutions for a complex manufacturing operation related to network infrastructure and software applications.

The candidate should be a self- driven highly motivated individual who enjoys hands on development and sustaining responsibilities that bridge the gap between IT and manufacturing operations.

This is an on-site position with hybrid work opportunities. Minimal travel (<5%) may be required for training and/or visiting other Siemens MI locations.

• Network hardware, software, and peripheral device definition, selection, and integration.
• Network administration and management including performance monitoring, stability, security, updates / upgrades, backups and retention practices.
• Planning and scheduling design and implementation of operational and maintenance activities for network infrastructure.
• Technical documentation including design and performance specification, BOM, system diagrams, topologies, operational / setup instructions, etc.
• Industry standards and compliance regulations relative to network system development, security technologies, validation, and control.

Required skills to have for the success of this role

• Bachelor of Science degree in CS, IT, CE or equivalent discipline.
• Extensive technical knowledge in area of competence with 8+ years of related experience in network development and management.
• Linux and Windows server / desktop operations, administration, configuration, and maintenance.
• Deploying Android Administration.
• Virtualization technologies and administration (vSphere or other)
• Network security expert in detection, prevention, assessment, and vulnerability best practices.
• LAMP development experience
• Scripting skills (Python, Bash, etc.) to automate task, monitor systems and generate reports.
• Software Versioning Tools such as CVS or Git.
• Networking Protocols and Communication Formats such as TCP/IP, Client / Server communications: HTTP(s), JSON, XML, SSH, etc.
• Excellent communication and network troubleshooting skills with a strong attention to detail
