Network Engineer

We, at Persistent are looking for Network Engineer. To be a successful candidate, you will need to have a strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware. You will also need to be able to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network devices including WAPs, firewalls, routers, switches, and controllers. A deep knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols is highly desired

What You'll Do

• In this highly visible customer facing role as Solution Validation Services Consulting Engineer, you will:
• Engage with customers and other Client stakeholders on successful planning and execution of validation engagements.
• Support next generation R&S, Data Center, and Service Provider customers to accelerate implementation of new platforms/solutions.
• Validate new design solutions to meet customer requirements.
• Drive requirements discussions, analyze test requirements, build test lab configurations, author and execute test plans, and document results.
• Identify key issues and gaps and work with engineering and delivery teams to resolve them.
• Develop/integrate new technologies into lab environments.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects from Delivery and Sales teams regarding future initiatives and securing customer business.
• Innovate to gain efficiency and accelerate validation efforts.
• Collaborate with other engineers to ensure successful project delivery.
• Identify and facilitate new business growth opportunities.
   

Expertise You'll Bring

• Customer Facing experience
• Previous experience in a customer support or TAC-style role
• Ability and experience debugging and troubleshooting complex network problems
• Routing and Switching experience, R&S and/or SP CCNP Required
• Strong knowledge of IOS-XR
• Strong knowledge of SP platforms (GSR, CRS, ASR9K, ASR1K, NCS5500)
• Experience in all or most of the following: ISIS, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, LAN Switching, STP, MPLS, Traffic Engineering, Multicast, Virtualization, EVPN, QoS, IPv6, MST, PIM, DMVPN, NetFlow
• Programming experience/familiarity (Python / Robot Framework preferred)
• Linux/Unix experience
• Proficient with Industry Test Tools; Spirent or Ixia preferred
• Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and formal presentation)
• Suggested Qualifications
• CCIE – Service Provider or R&S
• 4G Mobility experience
• ASA, IPSEC Tunneling, VxLAN, NFVi,
• Openstack and VMWare Virtualization
• Multimedia traffic analysis experience
• Network programmability (Python, Netconf, Yang)
• Testing experience (Hardware and software)
