Network Engineer

Responsibilities:
 

• Administer Routers & Firewalls, Servers & other devices/hardware. Racked & Stacked new switches, servers & hardware. Built IOS configurations & implementing security policies. Upgraded IOS’s on switches, firewalls & other network devices. Installed new hardware into production & decommissioned old hardware. Installed POS devices/printers in new & remodeled PG&E Locations.
• Documenting, configuring, installing, deploying, monitoring, investigating, triaging, troubleshooting, remediating, and maintaining network systems for performance, efficiency, stability, and availability.
• Configuring RIP, OSPF and Static routing on Juniper Routers.
• Configuring Static, BGP, EIGRP, and OSPF Routing Protocols on Cisco 1800, 2800, 3600, 4300 series Routers.
• Manage Cisco and Juniper Firewall access lists, address translation, and Site to Site IPSec and remote connection VPN’s.
• Configuring ACL to allow only authorized users to access the servers on Cisco routers.
• Design and installation Palo Alto (Application and URL filtering, Threat Prevention, Data Filtering).
• Responsible for Cisco ASA firewall administration across our Organizational networks.
• Design, Implement & troubleshooting of Juniper switches, routers and Firewalls EX-2200, EX-4200, EX-4500, MX-480, M Series, SRX210, SRX240, SRX 3600/650.
• Configuration of Network and Security devices such as Cisco routers and switches (Cisco 7600/3500/Nexus 7K/5K).
• Configuring, managing and troubleshooting networks using routing protocols like RIP, EIGRP and OSPF (Single Area and Multi Area).
• Troubleshooting of protocol based policies on Palo Alto firewalls and changing the policies as per the requirement and as per traffic flow.
• Implementing security systems by specifying and equipment; directing equipment and software installation and calibration; preparing preventive and reactive measures; creating, transmitting.
• Configuring the new site turn ups, turn up of new routers/switches, pulling access points, converting routers.
• Working with Cisco equipment (working on a variety of different platforms), as well as Sieman switches, will need to pass the NERC requirements iOS upgrades, firmware upgrades.
• Ensuring day-today operations of technology infrastructure.
• Configuring network devices including routers, and servers to accommodate organization growth and demand.
• Designing and developing automation/scripting solutions to assist position and team performance.
• Working with customers Site-to-Site and Remote Site VPNs using Cisco routers to Cisco ASA.
• Configuring NAT/PAT and assigning static NAT IPs and NAT pools for new projects.
• Planning, designing and implementing VPN connections using Checkpoint, ASA, and Cisco Routers using site- to-site VPN.

Degree Requirement: This position requires a minimum of Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems, information technology, or a closely related field, or a combination of education and experience equating to the U.S equivalent of a Bachelor’s degree in one of the aforementioned subjects.
