Description

  • Coordinates the planning, design, and installation of equipment, using knowledge of engineering and programming as well as sophisticated instruments and computers
  • Participates in system conceptual design and documentation of the design concepts.
  • Installs all new hardware, systems, and software for networks.
  • Designs, creates, and builds network services, equipment and devices.
  • Generates system level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures.
  • Monitors system performance and implements performance tuning.
  • Reviews test plans/procedures and ensures they meet the objectives of the contractual requirements and participates in the testing process to validate requirements.
  • Provide Non-Secure Internet Protocol Router (NIPR), Secure Internet Protocol Router (SIPR), and Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS) systems and network administration and maintenance capabilities to augment and support FTU staff.
  • Provide user, system and network administrator support of all systems required to operate the 39 Information Operations Squadron Formal Training Unit.
  • Provide support as required to ensure availability of mission critical services such as authentication, DNS, DHCP and access to network resources.
  • Configure and maintain network resiliency, DNS databases, firewalls, server operating systems, RAIDS, DMZ, etc.
  • Develop documentation such as SOPs, various reports, Knowledge Articles, architecture maps, and other references, technical plans or supporting documentation as requested.
  • Perform trouble-shooting support to diagnose and resolve problems
  • Interfacing with engineering, customer service and customer field techs team, vendors and suppliers.
  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills, ability to quickly grasp and set priorities in a fast paced, and highly flexible environment.
  • Strong communications skills both verbal and in writing with strong interpersonal skills schedule
  • Install and configure appropriate systems software and functions according to specifications
  • Terminates and installs copper and fiber optics cables to patch user workstations, patch panels, and cross-connects as needed
  • Performs configuration management and backups
  • Configures Cisco, Palo Alto, and pfSense firewalls and applies latest security practices
  • Updates daily tickets and long-term projects on appropriate tracking systems
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment to resolve issues and meet deadlines



Qualifications

High School with 3 - 6 years (or commensurate experience)

Required Skills and Experience
 

  • Clearance Required: TS/SCI
  • Must be willing to work flexible shifts as needed.
  • Current DoD 8140 Certification, primary certification is Security+
     
  • Able to lift 50 lbs
