Job description-
Nine or more years of experience in designing and/or operating networks or relevant experience.
– A degree(s) in information technology, computer scienceor relevant field may be substituted per guidelines for certain years of experience.
Preferred
Knowledge of areas including LAN, WAN, Wireless LAN, Cisco ASA, Cisco Unified Communications
– Expertise in network related platforms, technologies, and protocols inclusive of Cisco IOS, IOS-XE
– Subject matter expert with Aruba wireless controllers and ClearPass Policy Manager (CPPM).
– Proficiency in routing technologies such as OSPF, BGP and Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS).
– Working knowledge of DNS, DHCP and VRF
– Experience with a variety of related management tools that include SolarWinds Orion and Infoblox, NetBrain
– Experience with RADIUS, TACACS and Privileged Identity Management
– Rudimentary knowledge in scripting languages such as Python and Ansible.
Client is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced senior-level network engineer to join a diverse team of individuals focused on routing and switching for WAN, LAN & Campus wired and wireless networks.
General Overview
– Design, install and troubleshoot networks incorporating routers, multilayer switches, firewalls, wireless controllers
– Proactively monitor, analyze and review multi-platform computing environment and execute problem avoidance practices in order to maintain a
high level of reliability and availability.
– Identify best and least cost network solutions that meet stringent security and availability requirements.
– Solve problems causing network outages including identifying issues with hardware, operating system, application and capacity.
– Research, analyze, and implement software patches or hardware changes to address any network deficiencies.
– Act as the owner of a problem through resolution. Analyze issue and take actions to resolve problems (including Root Cause Analysis and Problem
Remediation).
– Draft, update and follow detailed work instructions relating to network maintenance.
– Act as subject matter expert while working with vendors, documenting best practices and configuring network tools.
– Document changes made to systems or equipment through appropriate communications and record keeping practices.
– Provide on-the-job training and guidance for colleagues with less experience
