  • Escalation POC for Network Engineer I / Product SME
  • Troubleshoot reported networking issues and outages
  • Lead Switch project related tasks and assist junior network engineers with their project tasks, as needed
  • Identify vulnerabilities and developing plans/projects to mitigate them
  • Introduce best practices for network devices and products managed by Network Enterprise team
  • Develop configuration standardization for network devices
  • Evaluate software versions and patches
  • Evaluate new hardware and technologies
  • Plan port and bandwidth capacity
  • Introduce new products into production
  • Develop proposals with available solutions
  • Design and deploy project solutions
  • Develop and maintain automation processes following industry best practices
  • Automate processes tasks, and develop reports
  • Maintain, evaluate, deploy and extend network automation frameworks
  • Maintain approved network design and IP allocation
  • Maintain network and project documentation
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures
  • Collaborate/whiteboard/brainstorm new ideas and solutions with the team
  • Participate in on-call rotation
  • Mentor and coach junior teammates, develop training materials for lower tiers
  • Create alerts in monitoring systems
  • Create Splunk dashboards
  • Patch and update software on network devices and products managed by Network Enterprise team
  • Spend time studying advanced network concepts

Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated experience with routing protocols and techniques: OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VRF, HSRP
  • Demonstrated experience with switching protocols and techniques
  • Experience with Cisco IOS and Cisco NX-OS
  • Demonstrated experience with Python
  • Experience with firewalls
  • Experience with wireless technologies (802.11)
  • Experience with tunneling/VPN protocols and technologies: IPSec, GRE, DMVPN
  • Experience with analyzing packet captures and network device logs
  • Experience with securing data, control and management planes: dot1X, Port Security, ACL, CoPP
  • Experience with AAA protocols and applications: TACACS, RADIUS, Cisco ACS/ISE
  • Experience with SD-WAN products
  • Experience with automation systems and frameworks such as Ansible. Nornir, Git, CI/CD, Containers, Nautobot/Netbox, NETCONF/RESTCONF, Yang models
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Visio
  • Experience with load balancers -- a plus
  • Experience with Linux OS -- a plus
  • Experience utilizing systems: ServiceNow, Splunk, GitLab, LogicMonitor -- a plus

Required Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience (4 years with CCNP level certification)
  • 2 years practicing/implementing network automation
  • 3 years deploying/implementing advanced level projects/solutions
  • CCNA
  • Cisco DevNet Certifications -- a plus
