Description

To provide advanced network architecture services across DBPR's enterprise network environment, including design, implementation, optimization, security, and troubleshooting of LAN/WAN/WLAN, data center networking, firewalls, VoIP, and cloud-integrated networks.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and implement LAN, WAN, WLAN, VoIP, and cloud/hybrid networks
  • Design and deploy network resiliency, including high availability and disaster recovery solutions
  • Collaborate on network security strategies (firewalls, ACLs, policy enforcement)
  • Provide expertise on routing, switching, IP configuration, and unified communications
  • Analyze and recommend infrastructure improvements independent of vendor bias
  • Maintain documentation and ensure operational continuity during transition phases
  • Attend project meetings, reviews, and evaluations as directed

 

Required Skills and Experience:

Minimum 5 years of experience in:

  • Public Sector IT (State, Local, or Federal)
  • LAN/WAN/WLAN network engineering
  • Content switches (e.g., F5, Kemp)
  • Firewall/Gateway Security (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco IronPort)
  • Cloud/hybrid networking
  • VoIP technologies: POTS, PRI, SIP trunks

Strong knowledge in:

  • Cisco Collaboration Suite (UCM, UCCX, Unity)
  • Network documentation and reporting
  • Troubleshooting under pressure

Vendor Requirements:

  • Must be a Cisco Gold Certified Partner
  • Must be a Juniper Certified Partner
  • Demonstrated experience providing network architects to government clients, preferably within Florida

 

Security & Compliance:

  • Must comply with:
  • Florida Rule 74-2 (Cybersecurity)
  • E-Verify & Level 1 background check
  • Data destruction and IP confidentiality standards
  • Weekly status reports and monthly timesheets required
  • Subject to liquidated damages for non-compliance or late deliverables
