Role Description
This is a remote contract role for a Microstrategy Developer. The Microstrategy Developer will be responsible for data modeling, creating dashboards, and utilizing analytical skills. They will also work with data warehousing and extract transform load (ETL) projects.
Duration: 6-12 Months
Microstrategy developer - some retail or apparel industry experience:
6+ years of total experience with 3+ years of experience within a business intelligence team.
Experience developing reports/dashboards with different Business Intelligence tools(MicroStrategy, Power BI, Tableau etc.) but primarily in MicroStrategy.
Knowledge of data warehouse, database concepts, data modelling and building ETL pipelines.
Experience with data manipulation using SQL and various Data Engineering tools (Snowflake, Data Bricks, etc.)
Major Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Gather business requirements , create functional & Technical design documents to deliver Business Intelligence reports.
Create reports using various Business intelligence tools as assigned by manager.
Provide knowledge transfer of business processes to technical teams and perform design reviews to provide guidance on technical design specifications for fit against functional requirements.
Perform testing activities including the creation of test scripts , Unit and Quality Assurance testing.
Support user acceptance testing by partnering with business users and gather testing feedback and delivering fixes for issues.
Perform end user training of business intelligence tools for users.
Interact with business intelligence end users, project sponsors, and the information technology department as a representative of the Business Intelligence Team.
Participate and contribute to the construction of a strategic roadmap for the business intelligence across the enterprise.
Experience:
6+ years of total experience with 3+ years of experience within a business intelligence team.
Experience developing reports/dashboards with different Business Intelligence tools(MicroStrategy, Power BI, Tableau etc.) but primarily in MicroStrategy.
Knowledge of data warehouse, database concepts, data modelling and building ETL pipelines.
Experience with data manipulation using SQL and various Data Engineering tools (Snowflake, Data Bricks, etc.)
Knowledge of software engineering best practices across the development cycle, including agile methodologies, coding standards, code reviews, source management and testing.
Strong communication skills to work with different stakeholders to gather requirements and translating those into Business Requirements Document Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to process information in a fast-paced environment.
Strong skills on Microsoft office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
Prior retail experience preferred
