Key Responsibilities:
Design and deliver next-generation chassis and cards that meet system product requirements with high reliability and performance.
Perform detailed 2D tolerance analysis for complex electro-mechanical assemblies using spreadsheets or 3D tolerance analysis tools like CETol.
Develop innovative mechanical solutions using sheet metal, plastic, and die-cast that comply with EMI, safety, and compliance standards.
Create 3D CAD models using Creo or NX and detailed drawings with GD&T principles.
Lead issue resolution by collaborating with the manufacturing team and suppliers, and developing mitigation plans, keeping stakeholders informed.
Work with cross-functional teams (HW, SI, CAD, Thermal, Manufacturing, etc.) to evaluate technical risks and negotiate requirements.
Collaborate with thermal engineers to design and implement cooling solutions effectively.
Provide technical design guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 8–12 years of EMS design experience.
8+ years in compute/network product design.
Expertise in 3D MCAD tools (Creo/NX).
Experience with static and dynamic analysis using Creo Simulate or ANSYS.
Proficiency in tolerance analysis, GD&T, and statistical analysis.
Proven experience in designing sheet metal for high-volume production.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities and ability to drive projects to completion.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in mechanical design for data center compute/networking equipment.
Knowledge in manufacturing tooling for sheet metal, plastic, and die-casting.
Familiarity with mechanism design, ECO, BOM, and Deviation processes.
Experience with PDMLink (TeamCenter) and Model-Based Definition (MBD) is a plus.
Excellent team player with strong communication and collaboration skills
