The Computed Tomography (CT) engineering team is seeking a highly motivated and skilled mechanical engineer to support Installed Base engineering. This role involves effective assessment and investigation of issues related to field (customer), factory, and supplier operations, as well as driving improvements and cost reduction initiatives. The successful candidate will contribute to rigorous engineering practices, prototype development, and compliance with global regulations and sustainability initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Issue Investigation:
- Investigate incoming field, factory, and supplier issues, including part failures, assembly or component-level issues, part obsolescence, cost reduction proposals, and improvement opportunities.
- Proactively address and resolve issues to minimize manufacturing and supplier downtime.
- Supplier Change Requests (SCRs):
- Assess, evaluate, and respond to Supplier Change Requests with urgency, ensuring operational continuity and efficiency.
- Engineering Change Requests (ECRs):
- Prepare, present, and own thorough and rigorous Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) in compliance with company work instructions and best practices.
- Prototype Development:
- Lead the development of prototypes for mechanical components, execute performance testing, and create detailed design documentation.
- Project Management and Operational Excellence:
- Drive operational excellence across assigned projects, including feasibility analysis, resource prioritization, cost-benefit evaluation, execution, and closure.
- Conduct design reviews and maintain compliance with industry standards.
- Global Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure designs meet global material compliance standards and contribute to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG)
Tools/Technologies
- Proficiency in standard drafting practices, mechanical modeling, product structuring, drawing practices, and engineering analysis techniques.
- Expertise in design tools such as Creo/Windchill, Ansys, and MyWorkshop.
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical fabrication technologies.
- Basic understanding and exposure to electrical engineering and design constraints related to electronics and electrical packaging.
