This is an onsite position supporting our Engineering team and will be responsible for the mechanical design and development of prototype and production units covering an entire cycle from concept/detailed design to manufacturing products and systems.
Job Responsibilities
• Responsible for the mechanical design & development of aerospace prototypes and production units.
• Maintain and support existing product designs and address changes due to end of life components, material obsolescence, and product change requests.
• Able to review engineering models and drawings and make modifications to existing products.
• Detailed mechanical design work including 3D modeling, documentation, HALT testing, support tooling/ fixtures.
• Responsible for creating 2D drawings for all associated components, assemblies, etc.
• Follow department processes and standards and ensure the design functionally meets customer requirements.
• Hands on testing of products and design validation documentation.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME)
• Zero (0) - three (3) years of mechanical design experience utilizing sheet metal, machined part, injection molded plastics, metal extrusions, & die casting in an aerospace or military environment.
• 3D CAD: – candidate must be familiar with 3D modeling software.
• Ability to understand/produce technical drawings and documents for internal and customer use.
• Ability to coordinate with the other discipline Engineers (EE & SE) within the department to produce multidisciplinary design solutions.
• Able to report mechanical design status on the assigned tasks whenever asked.
• Solid communication skills in dealing with other engineers, suppliers, etc.
Desired Qualifications
• Familiarity with FAA/ Aerospace design requirements is a plus
