We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design / PCB layout Contractor to lead the chassis and mechanical system design for a next-generation datacenter platform.
This role involves end-to-end mechanical design, integration with electrical and thermal systems, and collaboration across hardware and manufacturing teams to bring a high-density, scalable system from concept to production.
Key Responsibilities:
Chassis & Enclosure Design
• Design datacenter-grade chassis and subcomponents with focus on structural integrity, modularity, and manufacturability.
• Ensure alignment with standard rack dimensions (e.g., 19"" EIA-310) and service access requirements.
Thermal & Airflow Design
• Design and simulate airflow for optimal thermal performance (fans, ducts, baffles).
• Integrate heat sinks, heat pipes, or liquid cooling solutions as needed.
• Run CFD simulations and assist in thermal validation.
Power & Cable Management
• Optimize layout for efficient cable routing and power subsystem integration.
• Design brackets and supports for power supplies, connectors, and cabling.
System Integration
• Collaborate with EE, systems, and PCB teams for placement and mechanical constraints.
• Define mounting and mechanical interfaces for PCBs, SSDs, fans, PSUs, etc.
Prototyping & Testing
• Support physical prototyping using CNC or 3D printing methods.
• Coordinate mechanical testing (vibration, shock, drop, and thermal validation).
Compliance & Safety
• Ensure mechanical design meets regulatory (UL, CE, RoHS) and safety standards.
• Design with serviceability, user safety, and EMI/EMC shielding in mind.
Documentation
• Generate and maintain 3D CAD models, 2D fabrication drawings, and BOMs.
• Provide clear, revision-controlled documentation for fabrication and assembly
