Manager - SQL Database Management

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain SQL database environments including MySQL, MS SQL, DB2, and Sybase, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
• Develop, implement, and support stored procedures, scripts, and database automation tasks using Shell scripting, Python, and other tools.
• Administer and monitor database environments across Linux, UNIX, and Windows platforms.
• Leverage database security and vulnerability tools like IBM Guardium and Tenable to ensure compliance and threat mitigation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enforce database security standards and ensure alignment across platforms.
• Conduct performance tuning, capacity planning, and regular maintenance tasks.
• Provide technical leadership on best practices for database stability, availability, and scalability.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution.
• Work with PostgreSQL Aurora and Microsoft Azure environments is a plus.
• Maintain accurate documentation and standard operating procedures.
• Identify, communicate, and drive improvements proactively in database environments.

Skills Required:

• Strong hands-on experience with SQL database management (5+ years minimum).
• Familiarity with UDB, SYBASE, DB2, and SQL Server RDBMS.
• Proficiency in shell scripting, Python, and automation tools.
• Solid experience in Linux/UNIX environments; comfortable on Windows systems as well.
• Strong knowledge of database monitoring, auditing, and security tools (Guardium, Tenable).
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL Aurora and Microsoft Azure is advantageous.
• Proficiency in tools like Excel, Outlook, and general Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across various teams and business units.
• Effective in multitasking and working independently in an agile environment.
• Ability to lead initiatives to ensure security, stability, and compliance within complex environments.
• Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
• 11-13 years of total professional experience in database management and IT infrastructure.
• At least 5 years of specialized experience in SQL Database Management.
• At least 10 years of experience using Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office tools.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience
