Roles and Responsibilities:
- Administer, maintain, and optimize Oracle databases to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
- Develop and maintain stored procedures, and perform scripting tasks using Shell and Python.
- Operate and support databases across UNIX, Linux, and Windows environments.
- Work collaboratively to standardize database security and ensure compliance across platforms.
- Implement database automation techniques and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions for recurring issues.
- Utilize monitoring and vulnerability reporting tools such as IBM Guardium and Tenable.
- Support integration and security across databases like UDB, DB2, SYBASE, SQL Server, and Postgres Aurora.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning, patching, and upgrades.
- Communicate clearly and regularly with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Skills Required:
- Expertise in Oracle Database Management (minimum 5+ years).
- Proficiency in Shell Scripting and Python.
- Strong knowledge of UNIX/Linux/Windows operating systems.
- Familiarity with multiple RDBMS technologies including UDB, DB2, SYBASE, SQL Server, and Postgres Aurora.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure is a plus.
- Solid experience with Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Office tools.
- Experience with database monitoring and security tools such as Guardium and Tenable.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage high-pressure situations, multitask, and work independently in an agile environment.
- 11-13 years of overall professional experience.
- Minimum 5 years in Oracle database management.
- At least 10 years using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Demonstrated experience in proactive problem solving and leading security/stability improvements in complex environments.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent
