PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Project management- select core system modules

  • Drive and Champion Mobility Platforms which are primarily One Stop Solution for New Business Sourcing by various channels
  • Participate in discussions between functional owner and business analyst to understand requirements captured in the form of Requirements Gathering Document (RGD), pertaining to modules like New Business, Pay-out, Policy Servicing, Partner Integration etc.
  • Receive all requirement documentation pertaining to new functionalities/ upgrades (such as BRD, Test cases, BA document, Validation document etc.) from the functional owner and Business Analyst
  • Allocate project to Team Lead based on workload/ skill-sets, and ensure estimation of effort and finalization of DOD (Date of Delivery)
  • Oversee completion of development, unit testing and code review by the team, within decided timelines, managing timeline and quality escalations if any
  • Coordinate with testing team to ensure all tests are completed, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT) involving dedicated team of functional users and Smoke testing
  •  Verify completion of development and testing, and obtain approvals as required, before release for deployment
  • Maintain and monitor tracker across all projects, conducting periodic reviews with the team to ensure on-time and successful completion
  • Attend calendarized monthly meetings with the Partner Integration team, to understand system-related issues pertaining to different functionalities/ modules used by the team
  • Establish priority tickets out of all requirements/ issues discussed, document the minutes of the meetings and maintain a tracker for resolution of all issues and monitor closure of all tickets
  • Present status of issues raised and plan of action to resolve issues, on a periodic basis
  • Coordinate with other teams within IT- such as Business Analysts and relevant PMs to ensure that the issues are attended to and driven to closure
  • Conduct IT presentations and understand requirements for any new partner on-boarding
  • Oversee special IT projects/ initiatives commissioned by the Partner Integration team

2. Operational reviews and subject matter expertise

  • Engage with and conduct periodic reviews with own team, to support in development of projects and resolve any issue faced in driving the projects
  • Attend periodic reviews with reporting manager and the CTO, and provide regular updates on various programs
  • Participate in and extend support to audits- internal and IRDA
  • Attend discussions and provide subject matter expertise with respect to technical architecture for any changes in the core system

3. Team development

  • Conduct knowledge transfer/ training for team members, on relevant technologies/ platforms/ domain skills
  • Participate in recruitment process to identify the right talent for various positions within the function
  • Establish individual performance expectations and evaluation metrics, and regularly review individual performance
  • Identify and create development opportunities for team members to enhance functional knowledge

MAJOR CHALLENGES

Current software is customized to BALIC requirements; any replacement of the system/ software will require massive effort to replicate the complex products that it supports

Educational Qualifications

  1. Qualifications
  • Engineering- BE/ BTECH-IT or CS OR MCA
  • Certifications in Project Management/ other domain certifications- optional
  1. Work Experience
  • Overall, 12-15 years of experience
  • Must have experience working in Oracle, Java, SQL/PLSQL
  • Experience in BFSI industry, preferably in Insurance domain having managed Insurance core application
  • In-depth experience in IT, solution designing, project management
  • Experience in team management
