Job Description:

Design, Develop, and Maintain COBOL Programs:

  • Write, test, and debug COBOL programs to meet business needs.
  • Modify and update existing COBOL programs to improve performance or accommodate changes in business processes.
  • Develop flowcharts, layouts, and documentation to identify requirements and solutions.

System Analysis and Integration:

  • Analyze system requirements and work closely with users to deliver effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with other IT professionals to integrate COBOL programs with other systems.
  • Ensure data security and integrity in all COBOL applications.

Technical Support and Troubleshooting:

  • Provide technical support and guidance to end-users to ensure smooth operations.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and debug programs as needed.
  • Maintain documentation of program development and subsequent revisions.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  • Develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with coding standards and technical design.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in COBOL programming and best practices.

Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Mainframe (COBOL) Programmer/Analyst.
  • Strong experience with JCL, PROCS, and CTLCARDS.
  • Experience with RMDS, EXPEDITER, and File-Aid for IMS/DB2.
