 Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Mainframe Developer/Designer to join our team. In this role, you'll work on solving complex problems, mentoring junior developers, and developing reliable, large-scale systems. You’ll take on a leadership role in technical design and development, contributing to impactful projects that shape the business.

What You’ll Do:

• Design and develop applications using COBOL, PL/I, and CICS on mainframe systems.
   
• Develop and manage job processes using JCL (Job Control Language).
   
• Work with key databases such as DB2 and IMS for efficient storage and access of business data.
   
• Utilize tools like FileAid, SAS, Expeditor, Easytrieve, and Abend Aid for testing, debugging, and troubleshooting.
   
• Manage code versioning and release management through tools like ENDEVOR and Changeman.
   
• Mentor and guide junior developers while collaborating with business analysts and testers to ensure quality delivery.
   
• Develop and integrate APIs using web services (XML/JSON) for seamless system integration and modern interfaces.
   
• Contribute to Agile teams, collaborating cross-functionally to deliver solutions with efficiency and precision.
   

Must-Have Skills:

• 8–10 years of experience in mainframe application development and design.
   
• Strong hands-on experience with CICS, COBOL, PL/I, JCL, DB2, and IMS.
   
• Proven experience with code management tools like ENDEVOR and Changeman.
   
• Familiarity with mainframe utilities such as REXX, SAS, FileAid, and Expeditor.
   
• Practical experience with APIs and web services (XML/JSON).
   
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
   
• Ability to mentor junior developers and collaborate effectively across teams.
   

Nice to Have:

• Experience in the Capital Markets or Financial Services domain.
   
• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
