Linux Desktop Support Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Linux Desktop Support Engineer with around 3 years of experience in Linux environments. This role is ideal for an individual who thrives in a dynamic work setting and is passionate about providing exceptional technical support.

As a Linux Desktop Support Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and supporting Linux-based desktop systems, ensuring they run efficiently and securely. You will troubleshoot issues, provide user support, and contribute to system maintenance and optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide technical support for Linux-based desktop systems, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.

Assist end users in resolving issues related to Linux operating systems, applications, and network connectivity.

Maintain, update, and patch Linux systems to ensure security and performance.

Utilize Ansible for automation and configuration management tasks.

Develop and maintain scripts to automate routine tasks and improve efficiency.

Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless system integration and support.

Ensure documentation is up-to-date, including troubleshooting guides, knowledge base articles, and system configurations.

Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users.

Participate in the development of best practices and continuous improvement of support processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

3 years of experience in Linux desktop support or a similar technical role.

Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Linux operating systems (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat).

Basic scripting skills (Bash, Python, etc.) to automate tasks.

Experience with Ansible for system automation and configuration management is a plus.

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with end users and technical teams.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
