Key Skills: Linux Admin
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day system administration support to assigned systems, including new deployments, testing, and evaluation of hardware.
- Maintain system documentation in AWS, Azure Cloud, and data centers.
- Offer subject matter expertise during the delivery of changes or managed incidents related to Linux Operating System server enterprise environments.
- Participate in the review and approval of documentation, including SOPs and support guides.
- Assist with regular reports on continuous improvement activities, benefits, and outcomes.
- Monitor the incident queue and participate in quality control and reprioritization of tickets.
- Lead and support vendors in the resolution and root cause analysis of major incidents in the Linux and AIX environments.
- Write scripts in PowerShell, Unix shells, or scripting languages like Perl/Python.
- Set up new Linux servers in VMware, Nutanix, and AWS/Azure cloud environments.
- Ensure knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, subnetting, routing, and DHCP.
- Maintain knowledge of AWS/Azure services such as S3, EC2, IAM, Security, Lambda, and Networking.
Skills Required:
- Strong expertise in Linux Administration (on-premises & cloud environments)
- Experience with AWS and Azure cloud platforms (S3, EC2, IAM, Security, Lambda, Networking)
- Proficiency in VMware and Nutanix server setup and management
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, subnetting)
- Scripting skills in PowerShell, Unix Shell, Perl, or Python
- Ability to handle incident management, root cause analysis, and vendor coordination
- Familiarity with Linux and AIX enterprise environments
- Strong understanding of system documentation, SOPs, and ITIL processes
- Proven capability in continuous improvement and automation initiatives
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
