Description

  • Must have expertise in administrating and managing Linux operating systems like RHEL/CentOS especially on virtualization platforms like VMWare ESX/ESXi
  • Basic working knowledge of SAN and NAS provisioned storage.
  • Must have hands on experience in Linux OS installation, configurations, upgrade, and maintenance with scripted or non-scripted way.
  • Must have hands on experience in P to V, V to V, P to P, On-prem to cloud server migrations activities.
  • Performance monitoring, performance fine tuning and troubleshooting on different Linux platforms like RHEL, CentOS etc.
  • Experience working on Client DL G4,5,6 7, Client Client and Lenovo Servers. Troubleshooting Hardware, Operating System level issues.
  • Good experience in managing server lifecycle and perform operating system patching to maintain security compliance on Linux Application servers.
  • Scheduling various cronjobs for backups, database, proprietary jobs using CRON and BMC Control-M and troubleshooting daily job problems.
  • File system tuning
  • Experience in high availability, data replication, fail-over and fallback Solutions
  • Backup/ Restore experience to configure the client-side backup jobs and perform server OS restore as well as disaster recovery activities
  • Good understanding of TCP/UDP traffic, security, and networking components.
  • Experience working in system integration and project implementation activities will be an added advantage.
  • Must have good ITIL process knowledge.

Primary Skills:

  • RHEL (Version 5.X, 6.X, 7.X), CentOS (Version 5.X, 6.X, 7.X), VMware ESXi (6.X, 7.X), AWS or any public cloud basic knowledge, shell/python scripting knowledge will be an added advantage, ITIL, Migration tools like Vmware converter, platespin, carbonite, or any other cloud native migration tool
  • Expertise in managing Linux system over Vmware platform
  • Experience at any of the patching management tool / YUM
  • Experience in Server migration, server virtualization, and server refresh work
  • Exposure towards vulnerabilities and security standards.
  • Exposure with any scripting tools like Shell/Powershell/Python will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in dealing with ITIL tools (SNOW, BMC, HPSIM etc.) with good knowledge of ITIL process
