Lead Guidewire Developer

You Are:

UST is seeking a Lead Guidewire Developer to join our team, working on a client project for one of the largest financial institutions in Canada. The project is part of a multi-year journey to modernize core insurance systems and enhance digital capabilities to better serve customers.

The opportunity:

·       Provide hands-on leadership in the development and customization of Guidewire PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, and BillingCenter.

·       Guide the team in translating business requirements into scalable, high-quality technical solutions.

·       Lead integration efforts with core banking systems, document management platforms, analytics tools, and third-party data sources.

·       Champion development best practices, conduct code reviews, and mentor team members. Partner with QA teams to ensure automated testing and quality control standards are met.

·       Work in Agile delivery teams to plan, prioritize, and execute on product backlog items.

·       Contribute to the continuous improvement of our delivery practices, tools, and technologies.

What you need:

·       Must Have: 6+ years of Guidewire development experience (at least two of PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter).

·       Proficiency in Gosu, Java, XML, and Guidewire configuration (PCF, Data Model, Rules).

·       Proven leadership experience in an Agile/Scrum environment.

·       Strong integration skills with REST/SOAP APIs, middleware (e.g., MuleSoft), and messaging platforms (Kafka, JMS).

·       Solid understanding of P&C insurance processes and systems.

·       Nice to Have: Experience with Azure or AWS, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps), and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).

·       Familiarity with automated testing frameworks (GUnit, Selenium) and performance testing tools.

·       Knowledge of Canadian insurance regulations and compliance requirements
