We are seeking a hands-on Lead Data Engineer/Architect** to join our Snowflake engineering team. This role will lead enterprise-scale data architecture and engineering initiatives in a hybrid Snowflake and cloud environment (AWS). You’ll help shape our long-term data strategy while mentoring engineers and ensuring scalable, high-quality data solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as technical lead for multiple Snowflake-based data initiatives
- Architect and build scalable, high-performance Snowflake data pipelines and solutions
- Convert conceptual and logical data models into robust physical implementations
- Guide and mentor a team of Snowflake and ETL engineers
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Domain Architects, QA, and business stakeholders
- Create and maintain source-to-target mappings, and ensure data integrity across systems
- Optimize pipeline performance and ensure solutions meet non-functional requirements
- Support Agile delivery practices across teams and projects
Tech Stack:
- Must-Have: Snowflake, AWS, SQL, Snowpipe/Ingestion pipelines
- ETL: Informatica, DataStage, or similar tools
- Bonus: Databricks, Python, Oracle, Azure, ERwin, PowerDesigner
Required Qualifications:
- 10–20 years of IT experience with a strong focus on data engineering and architecture
- 7+ years of experience building enterprise data solutions and warehouses
- Expertise in Snowflake architecture, implementation, and pipeline optimization
- Strong data modeling (3NF, dimensional), SQL, and DDL scripting skills
- Experience with ingestion frameworks, data quality, and governance
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to lead and mentor technical teams
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and business groups
Preferred Qualifications:
- Financial services experience (especially in data warehousing)
- Experience with Agile/SAFe methodologies
- Familiarity with data cataloging tools (e.g., Informatica EDC) and governance frameworks
- Certifications: CDMP, CBIP, Snowflake, AWS, or equivalent
