Roles and Responsibilities:
- Design and engineer software with the customer/user experience as a key objective.
- Actively contributes to Technology Engineering Practice by sharing Subject Matter Expertise from their area of specialism, best practice and learnings.
- Drives adherence to all standards and policies within their area of Technology Engineering
- Delivery and support of data related infrastructure and architecture to optimise data storage and consumption across the bank, including addressing functional and non-functional requirements relevant to data in large applications
- Design and develop applications for internal and external users focussing on the interface and front-end usability of the application.
- Engineer and implement security measures for the protection of internal and external systems, networks, products and services.
- Establish a digital environment and automate processes to minimize variation and ensure predictable high quality code and data
- Assist in team development while holding teams accountable for their commitments, removing roadblocks to their work; leveraging organizational resources to improve capacity for project work; and mentoring and developing team members.
- Promote empowerment of the team, ensure that each team member is fully engaged in the project and making a meaningful contribution, and encourage a sustainable pace with high levels of quality for the team.
- Managing stakeholder communications and helping to implement an effective system of project governance
Skills Required:
- Knowledge of Java and Cloud Technologies and related products
- Experience in Java, SpringBoot, Kubernetes & Docker, MongoDB, SQL, Micro Service Design, Kafka, GCP
- Experience on design and implement DevOps Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) Pipeline.
- Experience supporting middleware / database design, build and troubleshooting in development and production environments.
- Experience of working with monitoring and alerting tools such as but not limited to AppDynamics, Splunk, Geneos and IBM Tivoli Monitoring.
- Experience in agile and DevOps environment using team collaboration tools such as Jenkins, Github, Confluence and JIRA.
- Working with Ops, Dev and Test Engineers to ensure operational issues (performance, operator intervention, alerting, design defect related issues, etc.) are identified and addressed at all stages of a product or service release / change.
- Provide support in identification and resolution of all incidents associated with the IT service, as directed by leadership of the DevOps team,
- Ensure service resilience, service sustainability and recovery time objectives are met for all the software solutions delivered.
- Keep up to date and have expertise on current tools, technologies and areas like cyber security and regulations pertaining to aspects like data privacy, consent, data residency etc. that are applicable
- Technical leadership of large team of developers and help development of team capabilities. Work with senior business stakeholders
Education: Bachelor's Degree in related field
