L2 Infrastructure Engineer – Windows patching

Job Description

• Extensive experience managing Windows server OS in enterprise environments.

• Experience with other automation tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.

• Typically has 5+ years of IT and business/industry work experience working as Windows support engineer or similar role with hands-on experience managing cloud infrastructure on the Azure platform.

• Previous experience working in a large-scale, enterprise environment providing operational support by building, configuring, and managing Virtual servers

• Excellent verbal and written communications

• Ability to track and administer several tasks concurrently

• Strong change management and ITIL background

• Coordinate, deploy, and troubleshoot patches and vulnerabilities on Windows servers.

• Monitor patch compliance and troubleshoot any issues related to patching activities.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful patch deployments without disrupting business operations.

• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in Windows patch management technologies and best practices.

• Lead fellow engineers troubleshooting patching failures and provide technical guidance
 

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. • Proven experience working with MECM/SCCM in a Windows environment.

• Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, VBScript) for automation purposes.

• Solid understanding of Windows operating systems and patch management concepts.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Effective communication skills to work collaboratively within a team environment
